Hello to all my subscribers,
THYROID.COM RANKING
The most recent ranking for world wide websites has The Thyroid Home Page ranked 92,644 for most links to other sites. There are 1264 links to my site from around the world. We were ranked 109,058 in the world with most unique visits. We moved up from 190,000 most visited site 3 years ago to 132,590 most visited in 2004. The actual number of hits have passed 35 million hits/year. We have reached this exalted height in the internet world with no ads! We have no webmasters trying to game the google system with phoney websites linked to The Thyroid Home Page. All the 1200 plus links are real links. Of valid non-sponsored thyroid sites only the American Thyroid Association site thyroid.org, is ranked above The Thyroid Home Page. Google ranks us third among non-sponsored sites, if you search for the word "thyroid".

The July stats reveal:

The top visited pages were patient information, the thyroid nodule, Tipper Gore, Screening for 35 year old women, virtual second opinion services, Ask the Thyroid doctor, fun stuff, and "What is a Thyroidologist ?"

1.3 million files were transferred from The thyroid Home Page.

The newsletter is the most dynamic page. If we took ads, this is where we would make the most money. We do not accept ads!

Top geographic areas include North America, Western Europe, Australia, Asia, South America, and the Middle East.

Top countries include USA, Italy, Canada, Australia, U.K., Mexico, Argentina, New Zealand, Spain, Saudi Arabia.

Most active organizations, AOL, Comcast, IT.com, Googlebot.com, Cox.net, and BellSouth.

Most active day for visitors ever: 67,861 That is a record. That translates into 25 million visits a year! We will hit that number on a daily basis in a few years. We presently average 750,000 visitors a year now.

Thursday is the most active day of the week.

6PM to 7PM is the most active time of the day.

The major referring site is my own site! One half of all visitors get to us by typing in thyroid.com, or www.thyroid.com! They did not get there by referral from Google, Yahoo, or MSN.

66% of all other referrals come from Google. The googlebot spider visits us regularly, due to our dynamic new pages on the thyroid newsletter. MSN, Yahoo, and AOLNet Find are next in order.
