Dr.Guttler’s comments:
-
The imaging of the PHPT nodules should include the shape, margin, size, composition, and location, were evaluated before treatment.
- Parathyroid Adenoma labeled “PTH” seen before the RFA therapy to assess location related to other structures.
-
Complete ablation can be obtained with RFA in most cases with one session.
-
Recurrent nerve temporary injury can occur but rare when cold dextrose water is used during the treatment.
-
US-guided RFA is effective and safe for PTA patients.
-
RFA may be an alternative treatment for patients who cannot tolerate or refuse to undergo surgery.
