Types of Thyroid Cancer
The four main types are papillary, follicular, medullary, and anaplastic thyroid cancer. Papillary thyroid cancer is the most common, accounting for about 80% of all cases, and generally has an excellent prognosis. Follicular thyroid cancer is the second most common type. Medullary thyroid cancer arises from C-cells and may be hereditary. Anaplastic thyroid cancer is rare but aggressive.
