Thyroid RFA for Recurrent Central compartment Tumor after Lobectomy.

Dr.Guttler’s comments:

1. 8 patients had RFA for 10 recurrent tumors after lobectomy.

2. Mean volume reduction was 98% ( 78-100% )

3. Complete ablation was achieved in all 8 patients.

4. All 8 had no recurrence at 33 months.

5. RFA was well tolerated by all patients.

6. No major complications.

7. 1/8 had transient voice change during the procedure.

8. Thyroid RFA is an effective and safe alternative to surgery for recurrent tumor in the central compartment after lobectomy.
