Dr.Guttler’s comments:

1. Systematic review of RFA for AFTN.
2. 411 patients treated in 14 studies.
3. TSH became normal in 71%
4. Nodule reduction was 70%.
5. Follow up period was 12 months.
6. NO CASES OF HYPOTHYROIDISM.
7. No serious complications.
8. The RFA effectiveness was not related to nodule size.
9. CONCLUSION: IT IS SAFE AND EFFECTIVE ALTERNATIVE TO RADIATION OR SURGERY. IT IS THE ONLY TREATMENT THAT DOES NOT INDUCE HYPOTHYROIDISM.
