RFA and Radioiodine: Alternative to Surgery for Large Toxic Nodules.

Thermal ablation plus RAI has been used in Large toxic nodules. ( Mader A et al Int J. Hyperthermia 2017 3 (8) 895-904. The size reduction and relief of symptoms was noted with return of euthyroid status. Combined therapy can reduce the number of RFA sessions and reduce the RAI dose.

If you have a large toxic nodule and the plan is to send you to surgery, call me for an opinion if RFA+ RAI can replace surgery.
